Rome really puts life in perspective. There are buildings here that are thousands of years old. My 21 years don't really compare!
We spent less than 24 hours in Rome. Due to the time constraint, we decided to take a tour bus to see all the major sites: the Colosseum, the forum, the Vatican, everything in between.
It was fun, but by far our favorite place was this little restaurant called Carlo Menta near where our hostel was in Trastevere, the area on the other side of the river from all the big attractions.
The food was absolutely delicious. We ate outside in the mid-70 degree weather. It was multiple courses: pasta, chicken, salad and dessert.
Afterward, we went on a walk to this little island in the middle of the river.
